Dear Heart By Lawrence Darmani

By Lawrence Darmarni·
Dear sullen heart I see you are sorely downcast Raising darkened cloud over me Are you about to rain? Pour down, my heart Tears are a cleansing balm Dear gloomy heart Come, let’s reason out Why have you taken me ransom As if I gave up the chase? I was assiduous, believe me I was But she, she was not for you Dear dismal heart Will you then abandon me Trailing the wild snaking wind Knowing she’s been long gone? Don’t spill over me The pulsating life within you Dear beating heart You said, go, go, go, and I went Hot pursue by rain and sunshine Bending backwards to face Slammed doors and barking hounds Take consolation that we hunted Dear broken heart I see you’re still beseeching for her But to another she belongs now Cut the cord and let her go How long can you fester? Else alone you stand henceforth
