Dry Bones By Lawrence Darmani

By Lawrence Darmarni·
Sinews and flesh, veins are vain If the bones be unsteady and wobble In the valley they lie lifeless In the vilest of self Who to their bare chest Once pointed all but forefinger Declaring who are you? Nobody Now made crystal clear nobody For those who watch must see How dry the bones are That rove this universe Bragging of transient glories The ashes of yesteryears In the valley of despondency Tranquility eludes dry bones If upon themselves they gaze How can they affirm Through the shadow of death No evil shall confound yours truly Who knows whom he’s believed? But sighting divinity As always when calamity strikes Those who meek by the seer Shall hear: son of man Shall these dry bones live? And shall respond You know For him who knows, knows Do dry bones on their own live And not aided with breath Like surging winds? So parts find paths on his charge Neighbour to neighbour Kin to lost kin Till they are one again
