PEEPARE AND BE READY! by Lawrence Darmani

By Lawrence Darmarni·

A few months to our school certificate examination, we prepared very hard. Day and night we read our notes and joined study groups for discussions. We wrote mock tests using past question papers. We met our teachers for extra classes. When the date for the examination came, we were prepared and ready. We like to prepare: As human beings, we prepare in order to get ready for any event in life. We prepare to travel. We prepare to marry. We prepare for the birth of a baby. We prepare the soil for planting crops. We prepare for the harvest. We prepare for work. We prepare for school and we prepare for exams. But there is one preparation many people forget about; that is, preparing to meet our God! One day the prophet Amos carried an important message to the people. He told them: “Prepare to meet your God in judgment!” (Amos 4:12). The people were living reckless life. They did all kinds of wrong things. They disobeyed God and were corrupt. They worshipped idols and got involved in occultism. So the prophet warned them to “Prepare to meet your God.” The Bible reminds us that, “We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad” (2 Corinthians 5:10). The Day us coming: Because Judgment Day is coming, we must prepare to meet our God. The time to prepare is now while we are still alive here on earth. It will be too late when we leave this world. Judgment Day creates fear in many people. That is because we are all sinners, and we cannot face judgment as sinners without being condemned. But fearing Judgment Day is not the way to prepare for it. Students who fear exams and develop exam fever cannot stop the exams from taking place. Instead of fear, prepare. Get ready. Some people try to ignore references to Judgment Day. They think there is nothing like Judgment Day—when you die, it is finished, nothing more! This attitude will not prevent anybody from facing the Judgment Day. Instead, prepare and be ready. For as long as we live on earth, we shall die out of it someday. And the Bible makes it clear that judgment is awaiting us—one by one! Don’t fear! Instead of being afraid or unconcerned, it is wise to prepare and be ready. The Lord Jesus said, “So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man (Jesus) will come at an hour when you do not expect him” (Matthew 24:44). How to prepare: This is how to prepare and be ready: Believe that Jesus is the Son of God who came to die for our sins. Repent as a sinner and pray to ask God’s forgiveness. Invite Jesus into your life and ask him to help you live for him. When you do this, you have become a new creation in Christ. The old life is gone. Make time to pray and read the Bible every day. This will help you grow in your Christian faith. Join a Bible-believing church and serve the Lord. Let your new life be seen in your behaviour by turning away from sin and wrongdoing. If you do this, you are ready to meet your Lord on Judgment Day. Jesus, who is the Judge, said, “I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown” (Revelation 3:11).

PENALTY PAID

What the judge did at the magistrate court was marvellous. At the trial, the judge found the young man guilty as charged. She sentenced him to the maximum fine prescribed by law or be jailed for one year. As the police led the convict out, the judge said, “Wait!” The police and everyone in court looked on. The judge took her hand bag and pulled out an envelope containing some money. Counting the exact amount of the fine, she handed it over to the court clerk. “I have paid the fine,” the judge said. “Set the convict free.” Immediately, the police released the young man. The man stood still and then bowed. Lifting up his head, he said, “My lord, what did I do to deserve your kindness, and what can I do to thank you?” “Just go,” the judge said, “go and live a new life.” Grace and mercy: A similar but higher grace and mercy took place many years ago. That is the story of Christianity. Before God the Almighty Judge, we are all guilty. We are guilty because we are all sinners. The Bible says, “All have sinned” (Romans 3:23). It sounds frightening, but we are all criminals before God! The dictionary meaning of the word criminal is offender, convict, prisoner, lawbreaker. We are all law-breakers. The Bible says, “Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness” (1 John 3:4). Because sin is lawlessness, and lawlessness is a crime, we are all criminals! And the punishment for breaking God’s law is death. For “The wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). This “death” means eternal separation from God, not just dying out of this world. The Bible calls it “the second death” or eternal death (Revelation 21:8). Amazing thing! But God, the great Judge, did an amazing thing. He paid for our sins so that we are not condemned to eternal death. The suffering Jesus went through, his death, and his resurrection were all for our sake, to save us. “God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). By dying for us, he paid the price or the wages for our sin. We read from Titus 2;14 that Christ gave himself for us, to redeem us from all lawlessness. Jesus paid for our salvation in full; therefore he bought us with a price (1 Corinthians 6:20). That price was high: his suffering and death. His blood, which he poured out for us when he died, cleanses us from our sins (1 John 1:7). We did nothing! The convicted young man, happy and free, asked the judge, “My lord, what did I do to deserve your kindness, and what can I do to thank you?” What did we do to deserve the salvation that God has given us through Jesus Christ? We did nothing! He paid the price because He loves us and gave us His only begotten Son (John 3:16). To be set free like the convict was, believe in Jesus as the Son of God. Repent from your sins and ask God to forgive you. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all sins” (1 John 1;9). Then invite Jesus into your hearts as your personal Saviour. When you do this, you are set free. Just as the judge told the convict, “Go and live a new life.”

RECEIVE IT

My friend took out some money as a gift to a widow in our neighbourhood. “No, thank you!” the widow refused and walked away. In a community where poverty is high, the woman’s refusal surprised us. And as long as the widow said “No,” she did not benefit from the gift. Examples: Take another situation. It was farming season, and the farmers in our village waited for rain. When it rained, the farmers happily cultivated their farms—except one man who refused to cultivate a farm. So he didn’t benefit from the rain. Here is another example. Malaria has infected a man and he is suffering. A nurse gives him medicine for malaria and says, “Take it and drink plenty of water.” “Yes,” says the patient. But when the nurse goes away, the patient throws the medicine away. So you ask, “Why is the man still sick when medicine for his sickness has been provided?” The answer is simple: The patient has refused to take the medicine. Why not automatically? Many people have asked me this question: “If Jesus died for all of us, why are some people saved and others not saved? Why shouldn’t we all go to heaven automatically?” Isn’t the answer to this question clear? Let us ask the same question another way. Since my friend tried to give the money to the widow, why didn’t the widow have it automatically? Answer: Because the widow refused to take it! How about the farmer in our village? Since it rained, why didn’t he have a farm? Answer: Because he didn’t cultivate his farm. Everybody reaps what they sow; if you sow nothing, that is what you reap—nothing! Saved and not saved: Any gift that is not received does not benefit the person who did not receive it. That is the reason why some people are saved for heaven and others are not. Those who are saved are those who receive the gift God has given to the world. Those who are not saved are those who have refused to receive God’s gift. The free gift of God is eternal life (Romans 6:23). Eternal life is found in Jesus Christ (1 John 15:11) whom God gave to the world (John 3:16). Those who receive Christ have received God’s gift and are saved; those who refuse to receive Christ have rejected God’s gift and are not saved. The matter is as simple as that! Reasons: But why would anybody refuse such a wonderful gift as eternal life? The reasons are many. One young man told me that his friends were pulling him away from God, so if I want him to come to God then I should pray hard! Well, I am still praying for him, but the decision is his. Some people don’t believe; others postpone their decision. So, again, why are some people saved to go to heaven and others are not? The answer is obvious. It is because they have refused to receive or accept the gift. Eternal life is a free gift, but it is not automatic. Only those who receive it sincerely have it. Those who don’t receive it don’t have it. Receive it! To receive eternal life and be saved for heaven, repent, for we are all sinners. Ask God to forgive you (1 John 1:9). Invite Jesus into your heart (Revelation 3:20). If you do this, you have received the free gift of God! The choice is yours!

RETURN HOME

All I asked Albert was, “Why are you crying?” In answer, he cried the more. After a while, he said, “I have wronged my step-parents deeply.” His step-parents cared for him when his own parents died. But, without saying goodbye to them, he ran away from them. He lived in the city for many years. Now he felt sorry for what he did. “Return home to your step-parents,” I told him. “Tell them you are sorry for what you did and ask them to forgive you.” Albert said No! Several months later when I saw Albert, I asked him, “Did you return home to your step-parents?” He bowed down and said, “No, I did not.” The Lord Jesus told the story of a young man who ran away from home. He took money and goods from his father and went to a far-away city. After spending his money with women, drinks, and bad friends, he became totally broke, hungry, and sad. He couldn’t even get pig’s food to eat. He was sad, but he did a wise thing. The boy said Yes: “When he came to his senses, he said: How many of my father’s hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants” (Luke 15:17-19). The wayward boy didn’t waste time. He returned home quickly, wondering if his father would welcome him home. His father saw him: “But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him. He ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him” (Luke 15:20). The boy said to his father, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.” But the father was happy to have his son back home. He organized a big welcome party for him. “Let’s have a feast and celebrate,” the father said. “For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.” God loves us: This story Jesus told is about God and how much he loves us. It is about us who have gone astray from him. We have wasted God’s kindness towards us. But our kind-hearted Father is waiting to receive us back to himself. The boy did the right thing. As soon as he came to his senses, he returned home to his father, and his father forgave him and welcomed him home. When you hear the Good News of Jesus, don’t waste time. Confess your sins and receive Jesus who said, “Whoever comes to me I will never drive away” (John 6:37). To receive forgiveness, approach God the wayward the boy did. He was humble, willing to become a servant. He was sorry for what he did, and he confessed. To feel story and yet do nothing about it is not helpful. Albert felt sorry, but he didn’t return home to his step-father. Are you far away from our Father God? Return home. Pray to God. Ask Him to forgive you. Receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. Then there will be celebration in heaven because you’ve returned home to God. Jesus said, “In the same way, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents" (Luke 15:710).

RUN FOR YOUR LIFE

When we heard about the coronavirus, we all ran for our lives. Many were quarantined (separated from other people); others isolated themselves on their own. We applied hand sanitizers dozens of times a day. We washed out hands and wore nose and mouth masks. No crowding; no handshake; no hugging! We tried not to touch our faces. Disease made us run: The coronavirus, an invisible but deadly disease, caused us to run for our lives. We feared the approaching death and stayed at home. When we were told to run for our lives, we did—and we are still running. Where did COVID-19 (COronaVIrusDisease-2019) come from? Some say it was manufactured in a laboratory; others say it was created as a biological weapon to wipe out human enemies. But, for sure, we don’t know! Why did it come? Some say God allowed it to hit the world because of our many sins—corruption, immorality, blood-shed, idol worship, hatred, occultism, pride, greed, materialism, ungodliness, and a host of other evils. Again, for sure, we don’t know! We must run: But we know one thing: when death is approaching, we must run for our lives. When destruction is coming, we must run for our lives. When danger is ahead, we must run for our lives. Is danger ahead of the human race? Oh, yes. From the Bible, we read that a day is coming when “. . . the heavens will disappear . . . the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be burned up” (2 Peter 3:10). There would be so much hardship before this event. So Jesus said, “Unless that time of calamity is shortened, not a single person will survive. But it will be shortened for the sake of God’s chosen ones” (Matthew 24:22). Run for your life by becoming one of God’s chosen ones! They ran for their lives: One day God sent angels to Sodom and Gomorrah. Their sin (like the sin of the world today), was so grievous that they were marked for destruction by fire. They told Abraham’s nephew Lot who lived there, “Run for your life” (Genesis 19:17). Fire came down and destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. Lot and his children who ran for their lives without looking back were saved. As we quoted above, “The earth and everything in it will be burned up”. That is the danger ahead of the human race—a situation that will be more dangerous that coronavirus. If we are running for our lives from the virus, then how should we react to the coming danger when the earth itself will be on fire? Faster than the world’s fastest sprinter, run for your life! The big question: The question is: “Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be?” And the answer provided is: “You ought to live holy and godly lives.” (2 Peter 3:11). Living a holy and godly life means: 1. Repent and confess your sins to the Lord; 2. Ask Him for forgiveness and you will be forgiven; 3. Accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour; and 4. Invite Him into your heart and life. This process makes you born-again! You have run for your life! You become holy and righteous because Jesus, who now lives in you, is holy and righteous. Then, by the help of God and the power of the Holy Spirit, obey and live by the teachings of Christ. Now pray by following the four steps above.

SOUL IN DANGER

Perfume has three parts: it is liquid, it has fragrance, and it is in a bottle. You can’t separate them unless the perfume is used up or the bottle breaks. Likewise, every person is three parts—body, spirit, and soul. Just as the fragrance is the perfume, so the soul is the person. You are the soul: Therefore, YOU are the soul. That is why we sometimes say, “There wasn’t a single soul in the big hall.” That means there wasn’t a single person in the big hall.” You have a body, you have a spirit, but you are the soul! Now the soul is in serious danger! Let me tell you why. The Lord Jesus once asked, "What does it profit a person if he gains the whole world and loses his soul? Or what can a person give in return for his soul" (Mark 8:37)? This means that if you put everything in this world together on one side and put the soul on another side, the soul is more important that everything in the world combined! The heart of man: When sin entered the world through Adam and Eve, “the Lord saw that man was very sinful on the earth. Every plan and thought of the heart of man was sinful always” (Genesis 6:5). The “man” here refers to every soul. It is the soul that sins, that disobeys God. The soul doubts and disbelieves the Scriptures. The soul gets discouraged, gets angry, thinks evil, speaks evil, misbehaves, and does all kinds of evil. Even when we try to do good, bad things lie close by. Satan, the world, and our flesh cause us to sin against God. That is why the soul is in danger. It is in danger because it will someday face judgment. The Bible says, "It is appointed unto man to die once and after that judgement” (Hebrews 9:27). The soul shall be judged because the soul is a sinner. We learn from the Scriptures that everybody is a sinner. “All have sinned and fall short of God’s glory” (Romans 3:23). Bad and good news: Again, the soul is in danger because the soul will face death! From the first half of Romans 6:23, we read that “The wages of sin is death . . .” That is bad news! But there is good news in the second half of the passage, which is, “. . . but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” So only the soul that has not received the gift of God is in danger. Those who have received the gift of God are out of danger. The gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus. Those who have Christ Jesus have eternal life, and they are saved. “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1). Therefore, an unsaved soul faces condemnation and is in serious danger. To escape condemnation, the soul must repent and receive Jesus, the Saviour. God cares for the soul. He doesn’t want any soul to perish, so he sent his only begotten Son to die for us. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). Repent and ask God for forgiveness. Choose salvation for your soul. Invite Jesus into your life today and save your soul from danger.

THE BETTER BREAD

Whenever we pray, “Give us this day our daily bread,” what do we have in mind? Is it about food—such as bread with tea or koko? Is it about rice with stew and fufu with light soup? Or my favourite tuo zaafi or banku with okro soup? Yes, it is about all kinds of foods. God our Heavenly Father gives us our daily bread. He is the one who feeds the billions of people on earth. God is our Provider. But the line in the Lord’s Prayer, “Give us this day our daily bread” goes beyond physical food. It is also about spiritual food. We need food: True, when we are hungry, we long for food because without it we die. But how about when we are spiritually hungry? If we don’t “eat” spiritual food, what will happen to us? We die spiritually! We are flesh and blood, and we have physical body. That is why we need our banku and rice and fish. But we are also spiritual beings. Therefore we need spiritual daily bread in order not to starve spiritually. Food shortage: When the Israelites were on their way to the Promised Land, they ran short of food—the way Ghana ran short of food some years back. People still run short of food today as the times get harder. The Israelites cried for food, and God gave them manna from above. Ghanaians cried for food and God brought down rains and our good farmers cultivated the land. Thanks to God who cares for us! When God gave manna to the Israelites, they thought only about filling their stomachs. But Moses told them, “Man does not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from God” (Deuteronomy 8:3). Spiritual hunger: One day the Jews told Jesus, “Our fathers gave us manna in the wilderness.” But Jesus reminded them that it was God who gave them the manna. They had food for the physical body, but they were hungry spiritually. Those who don’t worship God but live their own lives are hungry spiritually. Spiritually hungry persons are unhappy in life. They are deeply dissatisfied about their lives. They don’t care about the things of God at all. Even if they are in church, they disobey God and follow their own ways. Their hearts are “weighted down with partying, drunkenness and the anxieties of life” (Luke 21:34). Spiritually hungry people follow the flesh in “sexual immorality, impurity, idolatry, magic, enmity, fights, jealousy, anger, disagreements, envy, drunkenness, and things like these” (Galations 5:19-21). Spiritual food: What spiritual food can feed the spiritually hungry person? Jesus said, “My Father gives you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world!” (John 6:33). Who is that true bread from God? Jesus is the Bread who fills the hungry soul. He said, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty” (John 6:35). Jesus is the Better Bread. To “eat” this true Bread, we must believe in him, repent, confess our sins to God, and ask Him for forgiveness. Then invite Jesus into our life as Saviour. Prayer: Lord Jesus, I believe You are the Bread of Life. My soul is very hungry. Please, forgive my sins, come into my life, and feed my hungry soul. I receive you as my Lord and personal Saviour.

THE ESCAPE ROUTE

It was Saturday in our forest village. The boys-boys in the village decided to go hunting on the hills. The rats and squirrels dug holes on those hills. When we inspected one good hill, we noticed a “good hole”, which showed that the squirrel was alive in there. Quickly, we surrounded the hill, cut the weeds, and began working on the hole. We pushed a long stick into the hole to force the squirrel out. But we worked and worked until we gave up—the squirrel did not come out. Very smart: Then we noticed a hole a little away from the hill. Then we realised what had happened. While we were working on the hill, the squirrel had quietly fled out of its escape route and was gone! Very smart! Very smart indeed. Only squirrels that did not have escape routes in their holes got caught. On the hills, we could not tell where a squirrel’s escape route might be hidden. Hidden under a rock? Hidden behind a tree? Hidden across the road? Almost always, smart squirrels that had escape routes escaped for dear life. Route to safety: My father once told me, “In life, you must always have an escape route to safety.” That caution tells you that danger is lying in wait everywhere. In fact, 1 Peter 5:7 says, “Your enemy the devil is going about like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour him”—looking for someone to destroy him. And we learn from John 10:10 that “the thief (that is the devil) comes to steal, kill, and destroy.” In life, we face all kinds of danger—danger against accidents; danger against sickness; danger against bad people seeking our downfall; and danger against evil spirits and Satan. But the greatest danger is danger against being lost forever in eternity. That is, danger of leaving this world and spending a miserable life forever in a place the Bible calls hell! How shall we escape? In the book of Hebrews, the writer asked, “How shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him” (Hebrews 2:3). “How shall we escape”—escape from what? Escape from being lost forever in eternity; escape from hell; escape from spending time with the devil whose main intention is to steal the Word of God from us, kill, and then destroy. How shall we escape? To escape, we must have the Escape Route. Jesus Christ is our Escape Route. He said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). He is the way of escape; he is the truth about God and His Word; and he is the eternal life. The squirrels that failed to have an escape route often went home with us—into our mother’s soups! The squirrels that had escape routes often fled for life. Don’t ignore this: Be smart. Escape! Don’t ignore this great salvation. Receive Jesus as your Escape Route. Pray, saying, “Lord Jesus, I believe you are my Escape Route. You are the Son of God who came to die for me a sinner. Please forgive me and wash all my sins away. I invite you to come and live in my heart. Be my Lord and Saviour!” The moment you do this, that very moment, Jesus comes to live in you. You have escaped. Now thank him, saying, “Lord, thank you for being my Escape Route!”

WHERE IS YOUR NAME?

I arrived at the airport confident that I would be on board the airplane. The lady at the counter checked for my name on their Manifest. The manifest is the document that lists names of passengers. But she couldn't find my name. Because my name was not on the Manifest, I couldn't board the airplane. They didn’t know me! Another Manifest: There is another kind of Manifest. The Bible calls it The Book of Life. That is God’s “Manifest”. Everybody travelling to Heaven must have their names in the Book of Life One day Jesus told his disciples: “Rejoice that your names are written in heaven!” (Luke 10:20). To have their names in Heaven was very important. If your name is not in the Book of Life, you cannot join the "flight" into God’s Kingdom. The Bible says, "If anyone's name was not found written in the Book of Life, he was thrown into the lake of fire" (Revelation 20:15). The Book of Life: The Apostle Paul praised some of his co-workers, "whose names are in the book of life" (Philippians 4:3). There is indeed The Book of Life, and names are written in it—the names of those who will enter the God’s Kingdom. John saw the beautiful City of God and described it in Revelation 21. In verse 27 he wrote, “Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.” Those who will enter the City of God, that is Heaven, must have their names in that Book of Life. The Lord Jesus told John to write that those who have not "soiled their clothes" (that is not lived in sin) will walk with him dressed in white! “I will never blot out his name from the Book of Life . . .” Jesus said (Revelation 3:5). How sweet to hear Jesus say this! No disappointments: I was disappointed when I arrived at the airport only to be told, "Your name is not in the Manifest.” In God's Manifest (or Book of Life), there are no disappointments. However, if your name is not in it, you cannot travel to God’s Kingdom—and that would be a big disappointment! Because of our sins, we cannot be admitted into Heaven. Nothing impure will ever enter it. But the blood of Jesus can cleanse us and make us fit for his Kingdom. The following steps will lead you to forgiveness of sin and cleansing by the blood of Jesus. As your sins are forgiven and Jesus comes to live in you, your name enters the Book of Life! Take these simple steps: The following simple but genuine steps can lead you to the point when your name is written in God’s Book: 1. Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God who died for us; 2. Accept that you are a sinner, for we are all sinners; 3. Repent, confess your sins, and ask God to forgive you; 4. Accept Jesus as your personal Saviour by inviting him into your heart. When you take these steps, believe that your sins have been forgiven and that Jesus has come to live in your heart. Thank him for writing your name in the Book of Life. Now that your name is written in the Book of Life, join a church where the Word of God is taught. Serve the Lord Jesus faithfully till He returns to take us to Heaven.

YOU ARE INVITED

When I was a young boy, I liked it whenever I was invited to enjoy a meal with my friends. “You are invited!” the invitation came. The meals were simple, but we enjoyed it—thanks to the invitation. When I applied for a job, I was glad when I was invited to accept the appointment. “Yes!” I responded happily. Years later, an invitation letter in my visa application documents helped me to obtain a visa to travel. Therefore, to be invited is very important; that is, if you are invited to something good. Come: One day I read an invitation in the Bible that sounded more special than any other invitation. The invitation reads: “Come to me, all you who are tired and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). That is good invitation, and it comes from the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. “Come, and I will give you rest!” Jesus invites us. His “rest” means peace with God and satisfaction for our tired soul. When Jesus says, “Come to me,” He is inviting us to Himself. Only He can help us, no matter the problems we are facing. Jesus came to save us from sin, Satan, and hell. He is inviting us to escape from future destruction and to enjoy everyday life. The party: Jesus told the story of a king who threw a party for his son. He invited friends and neighbours but they refused to go to the party. They said No to the invitation because they were busy. In the end, the king sent his servants to go out and invite other people to the party. This story is recorded in Matthew 22:1-14. God, the King of kings, has prepared a great party for His Son Jesus. On the great day of the party, which will be the Judgment Day, Jesus will return to take those who say Yes to His invitation. You are invited. Will you say Yes or No? Say Yes to this important invitation. Come to Jesus. To accept the invitation to come to Jesus, talk to Him. Pray this simple 5-point prayer to accept Jesus as your personal Saviour: 1. Lord Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God who died for me. 2. I am a sinner and I admit my sins. 3. I am sorry for my sins and repent from them. 4. Please forgive me and cleanse me. 5. I accept You as my personal Saviour. Please come into my heart and into my life. When you pray this prayer sincerely, believe that your sins have been forgiven. Believe that Jesus has come to live in your heart. Thank Him for what He has done for you. Now that you have accepted the invitation, join a church where the Word of God is taught. Serve the Lord faithfully till he returns to take us to be with Him.
